Considering how i'm being nicely pressured to write something to be placed in the intro for the version7 launch which is apparently set to take place as soon as I finish writing something, anything, as qs was nicely reminding me only a few minutes ago via his subtle messages in the forum, and his gentle threats to delay the launch until I finish, it's surprising really that I find myself still able to type, and not curled up in a corner somewhere in a fetal position with my hands covering my ears which is how i'd normally be reacting, given the circumstances (wait, and now he's adamantly telling me to keep it short, as if inspiration, and writing about something so monumental can easily be contained in a few short phrases)...

Where was I?

Ah yes... short, and monumental, and inspiring but, short... and it is for this very reason and these kinds of moments that I decided for a year to quell the temperemental writer in me, and prod and poke the calculating programmer to rear her head instead.

I even had to surf the 'net to find just the right facts to back-up my belief about the number seven being not merely commemorative, but symbolic, and in a way, mystical. Seven deadly sins. Seven Christian virtues. Seven petitions in the Lord's prayer. And that's just in the genre of Christianity.

Then there are also the folklore which proclaim that there is magic to be had in the seventh son, and also in the seventh offspring of said seventh son. The ancients also attributed the number 7 to the phases of the moon upon which they believed were dependent the cycles of birth and rebirth.

Then there's how the pixelcatalyst.LAIR is celebrating its Seventh Year online infused with its most eye-catching, rub-your-eyes-to-believe-it interface to date (qs was gulping when he saw this, so i think it might be fair to clarify that i had nothing to do with the interface, and hence, have no need to be modest), which might just be my humble opinion, but then again I believe that you'd have to see it for yourself to believe it, as my words can do no justice to what awaits.

A new interface, an astounding set of wallpapers, and a handful of riveting features. And all these coinciding with the Lair turning Seven. With these as givens, we'll allow any lingering doubt about the import of the number seven to be extinguished as your fingertips begin to explore.
