THE ARTIST Hmmmmm, a short intro I see, ok here goes nothing. I'm Junel Mujar better known as Fibermarupok, 23 years of age. A database/application programmer in the morning and a hooker by night. Nahhh, don't believe that last phrase. Ever since I was born I had this craving for art, maybe because of my genetic history (my father's an artist and my great grand father is a craftsman). Basically I do a lot of traditional art and now I diving into the digital side of art. THE PSEUDONYME A lot of people asked what is it with my nick, "Fibermarupok". Fibermarupok is a play on two contrasting words, of which is, you guessed it, "fiber" and "marupok". fiber as we know it is tough and sturdy material. "marupok" is a Filipino term for "brittle". So there it goes.. hence the nick. THE WEBSITE Oh, a website, I got one at fibermarupok.tk Damn, it's never finished since I started it coz I keep on changing layouts after layouts.... pixelcatalyst is witness to that. Basically my site features my artworks, news and personal blogs as well as designers/artists. It's also my practice lab for my php/mysql programming. THE INFLUENCE
No particular artist influenced me to digital art but a lot of great artists like dhabi eng, feng zhu, craig mullins, the guys from endeffect, and the great artists from devart (I won't name them all there's too many, tech13, matteo, pixelphreak, pixelcatalyst, thief6, and many more!) THE INSPIRATION My deep leaning towards art itself compels me to do these traditional and digital works. I find as a therapy and a form release. It's soul therapy for me. THE STYLE
the particular style/technique as my trademark probably is my watercolor/brush techniques I've been incorporating in my colored sketches. And also my dark photomanipulation techniques that I did with mechlust piece and the fatal seduction series. That definitely stamped my style/technique. Views on the skinning and GFX community It's going better and better as long as misunderstandings are better kept on their closets. online graphics community has been an educational instution for me. It's the best place to get some sweet inspiration. As for the skinning community, it's far better when it first started out. I was then a skinner, doing skins for eFx, I even made skins for windowblinds, and made themes for litestep. Most of my works are for personal use except the themes I released for litestep. But litestep.net went down, so my works went down too.. :/ but that's ok with me. Nothin to blame. Maybe one day I'll release a skin.. THE MUSIC No particular type of music but these floats my musical ocean.. rock, blues, metal, heavy metal, rap metal, prog rock, fusion, I say anything.... even britney and christina. I'm into improvisational music. Didn't I say I also play the guitar? I love Jimi Hendrix... THE MOVIES
Do you create for yourself or for an audience?
Both, I want to share my art to the community and the same time please my personal challenges. When I do a piece, I consider it as a challenge. IS THERE REALLY SUCH A THING AS PORNOGRAPHY? Pornography has been the source of many debates. As an artist, it depends on the person's mental judgement if he/she should considers a subject/artwork/picture as pornographic. Many aspects affect a person's view on this subject matter. it's either mechlust final or twin seduction. personally I'll pick mechlust as my favorite work coz it took a lot of my time and attention as compared to my other artworks. I was sorta inspired by mantik but I don't want to use his kind of style and ended up creating mechlust. trendy but not trendy.. I was in my highest creative form at that time... If you weren't 'photoshopping' what would you be doing? Strolling around, play lawn tennis, play my guitar, spend some quality time with my gf marie, sketch and paint... Your top three sexiest women, fiber?
