Were you expecting breed to come this far the day you started it?
bryan
I didn't expect Breed to come this far actually. I had no idea of the plans to add music and skins to our packs. This is a huge step beyond what I expected Breed to achieve. After being in the group for quite a while, however, I realized that we had a ton of potential. Now I think that there are very few limits to what Breed can do.
Can you share some future plans for breed?
bryan
We definitely want to build up our skin group and music group. We want to be known as much for music and skins as we are for artwork. We have also been talking about some site features like the ability to comment on the pieces.
Another feature may be a summary of each piece written by the artist. I think I mentioned before that we want to have Breed merch soon starting out with shirts and then maybe more. A server change is in the near future for Breed as well. We are exceeding our bandwidth limit by far. There has been
some talk of CD releases from our musicians (maybe as merchandise?). We have a ton of ideas and plans, you can expect a lot from Breed in the future.
And your advice/words of inspiration to other ART GROUPS or those aspiring to start one...?
bryan
The main thing I would suggest to other art groups and to anyone starting a group is to have solid leadership. Sometimes the best leadership is the hands off approach, just letting the group members do what they want without limits or guidlines. Being open minded to any and all suggestions is a must as well. Listen to what the audience and artists have to say and make changes where needed. Be prepared to dedicate a ton of time to your group as I know Scree does. And above all else make sure you and everyone else is having a good time and that the tone of your group is less militant and more like a group of friends hanging out.
Any other things you'd like to say to the readers out there...
bryan
would like to thank those who encourage Breed and those who maintain interest in the group. I would also like to say thanks to Breed's affiliates who are awesome enough to put news about Breed on their sites as well as links to Breed. I encourage everyone who enjoys Breed's work to check out the sites we link to because they all are very high quality. Support the digital art scene! And of course thank you pixelcatalyst for having this in-depth on Breed :D we appreciate it.
